We have 7 Committees that run throughout the year.

1. Tech Committee (Virtual)

  • Manage PS 198 PTA website
  • Manage Email List
  • Seek ways to increase PS 198’s presence and reputation in the area and on-line blogs
  • Facilitate improved communication between the school, parents, school Administration

2. Lunch & Recess Committee

  • Assist PS198 staff to  help monitor lunch and recess

3.  Fundraising Committee

  • Develop, coordinate and monitor all aspects of the Annual Fund drive
  • Identify and apply for all public and private grant opportunities for the school
  • Coordinate with Administration on school needs & wish lists
  • Manage Catalog Fundraiser
  • Evaluate fundraising initiatives with local businesses and other organizations
  • Identify alternate fundraising venues: Target, Amazon, etc.

4. Events Committee

  • Help plan and execute: Movie Nights, Book Fair, Bake Sales, Ice Cream Social, Winter Party
  • Spring Carnival Sub-Committee – Help coordinate all aspects of the 3rd Annual Spring Carnival
  • International Night: In conjunction with PS77, help organize and run multi-cultural food & event

5. Budget & Audit Committees

  • Budget Sub-Committee
    • Prepare budget in concert with PTA Executive Board in advance of PTA approval
    • Prepared annually and monitored throughout the year
  • Audit Sub-Committee
    • Review and approve financial reporting and any filings required on a quarterly basis
    • 4 people, majority as non-signatories on account

6. Spring Fling Committee

  • Run Spring Fling, including coordinating and soliciting donations, identifying venue location, event theme, organizing & implementing day of event.

7. After School Committee

  • Establish strategy and plan for After School programs at PS198
